[Biz] Crowdfunding for musical projects impossible ?!

As opposed to informations in the public media so far, crowdfunding seems to work for musicians.
This shows the example of band leader / singer Amanda Palmer. By now, her actual project has founded 400,000+ Dollars, with 28 days to go.
