[INFO] Vinyl Cutting Revolution?

Using 3D-Printers for creating playable vinyl records could be the next revolution in the music industry. Especially for small labels that produce music that is not made for the masses. Imagine being able to print records on demand. Unfortunately, at this moment the technology isn't capable of producing good-sounding printed records (see video for that), but  I am sure this will change. We'll keep an eye on that.

Funky selection of music, too. Check Amanda's Vimeo Channel for more up-to-date infos, find the link in the upper left corner of the video clip.

[RELEASE] CopyCat - Laydown EP #JF1500

Over the course of the last year it became more and more evident that I want jazzfucked to be more than just a blog about music, books, arts 'n shit. Out of the need for such thing, I want it to be a channel for my creative output where I can act freely, not inside a certain scene/genre. I don't wanna give a (jazz)fuck when being creative, you know what I am sayin?!

Therefore jazzfucked is for me and my creative friends. It's for those weird projects that never have been finished but are too precious to be forgotten. It's for those projects that nobody else wants to publish. It's for those projects with specifications that don't meet common standards. It's for those projects, that don't care about fame and such. Oh, and it's gonna be available for free of course. Free music by and for free minds. All genres, wildstyle.

The first release is by myself under the name of CopyCat: CopyCat - Laydown EP #JF1500.

Share if you enjoy!

[MUSIC] Major Scaled: Shedding light on dark classics

Very nice idea that has been realized in this project called "Major Scaled": well known songs have been reworked digitally using a major scale instead of the original minor scale.

[Video] Paul Robertson - Kings of Power 4 Billion %

Are you male and were born in the late 70s / early 80s and a proud owner of a Nintendo, Amiga, Sega or Atari machine? Then you will have a lot of fun watching this video by Paul Robertson (check his blog here). It's a 12-minute-long short movie, exaggerating what we loved so much about jump-and-run games.

If you're a female, born as well in the late 70s / early 80s and you're living with a male partner in the same age you might consider watching this movie to understand one of the many aspects that formed the behaviour of your man. Besides that, it features awesome colors.

Info from the Vimeo Page:

An animated short in the style of a side-scrolling combat game on acid that falls somewhere between creative genius and artistic insanity. Released in March of 2008, this is the second of such films from Australian artist Paul Robertson.
He made his debut in March of 2006 with a piece sponsored by the City of Melbourne titled "Pirate Baby's Cabana Battle Street Fight 2006." It was first shown at the Trigger Happy art exhibition, and quickly gained online popularity after being featured on the Select Parks artistic game-development community.

[MUSIC] Nimbus West Records - Label Mix

Stepped over this nice gem today. It's called Cumulative Nimbus and gives you an idea of the sound of Nimbus West Records. Nimbus West started releasing some fine ass jazz records with a somewhat darkish and mystical/spiritual sound in 1979. Links to their Discogs and HP below the video..
